Some wedding days are filled with excitement and celebration from beginning to end, and then there are wedding days that carry a quiet kind of magic. Mina and Carey's wedding at Willows Lodge in Woodinville was exactly that—a day full of genuine moments, meaningful traditions, and the unmistakable peace that comes from two people who are completely certain they've found their forever.

From the moment I arrived, there was an incredible sense of calm surrounding the entire day. Instead of feeling rushed, everyone seemed fully present, soaking in each moment as it unfolded. It set the tone for a wedding that felt intentional, intimate, and deeply personal.

Getting Ready at Willows Lodge

One of the things I love most about Willows Lodge is how effortlessly beautiful it is. Nestled among towering evergreens and lush landscaping in the heart of Wine Country, the property feels peaceful and secluded.

Mina spent the morning getting ready in one of the lodge's beautiful guest rooms before slipping into one of the most unique wedding gowns I've photographed. Her cascading pale blush gown featured delicate floral appliqués that flowed beautifully as she walked, creating soft movement that perfectly complemented the natural surroundings.

Meanwhile, Carey prepared with his closest friends, and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation, laughter, and excitement for the day ahead.

Exploring the grounds before the ceremony

Before guests arrived, we spent time exploring the incredible grounds around Willows Lodge for portraits.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings here is that every corner of the property offers something completely different. While many couples are naturally drawn to the gardens, there are so many hidden gems tucked throughout the grounds.

One of my favorite portrait locations was the dramatic burnt tree trunk near the entrance. Its rich texture and weathered character created a striking contrast against Mina's soft gown and became one of my favorite images from the day.

We also wandered across the charming white footbridge framed by lush hedges, discovered the massive twisting tree roots tucked behind the lodge, and even stopped by the whimsical little cottage hidden in the courtyard. Every location seemed to tell its own story while perfectly reflecting Mina and Carey's relaxed personalities.

Those quiet moments exploring together became some of my favorite memories from the day. Nothing felt forced. They simply enjoyed being together.

An Intimate Outdoor Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Willows Lodge's smaller outdoor ceremony site, creating an intimate setting surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Mina's father walked her down the aisle with visible emotion, while Carey thoughtfully escorted both his mother and Mina's mother before the ceremony began—a simple gesture that reflected the kindness and respect woven throughout the entire day.

Their ceremony was officiated by Carey's best friend, making every word feel even more personal, while his sister stood beside them as Maid of Honor. Together, they created a ceremony that felt authentic, heartfelt, and centered entirely on the people who matter most.

A Celebration Filled with Heart

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for an intimate reception inside one of Willows Lodge's event spaces.

Heartfelt toasts celebrated the couple's journey, the cake cutting brought plenty of smiles, and the evening unfolded exactly the way the rest of the day had—with warmth, laughter, and meaningful conversation.

Rather than focusing on elaborate traditions, Mina and Carey focused on what mattered most: spending time with the people they love.
