THE WEDDING EXPERIENCE

More Than Just
Beautiful Photographs

Every wedding is unique, but the experience should always feel the same: thoughtful, organized, and centered around the two of you.

From our first conversation to the final gallery, every step is carefully planned so you can enjoy your engagement, your wedding day, and every meaningful moment in between.

IT STARTS WITH YOU

Every couple celebrates differently.

Some dream of an intimate gathering overlooking the water. Others envision a ballroom filled with family and lifelong friends. Some have every detail planned before they inquire. Others are just beginning.

No matter where you are in the process, my first priority is understanding what matters most to you.

The more I understand your vision, your relationships, and the experience you want to create, the better I can preserve it.

A Wedding Day with Me by Your Side

On Sarah and James’ wedding day, a soft mist settled over the morning. Because we knew rain was likely, we had already talked through a plan. Sarah chose cheerful yellow rain boots and a coat to protect her dress, knowing they would bring a fun and personal element to her wedding photographs. I brought umbrellas and adjusted our portrait location so we could minimize mud and water while making the most of the soft, misty light.

On your wedding day, rain is a good thing.

Before the wedding, I reminded Sarah, “On your wedding day, rain is a good thing. Throughout the day, that became our little motto.

When Sarah stepped out of the car, everything was already in place. There was no need to make last-minute decisions or wonder what came next. We simply moved into the day and created photographs that reflected the joy and personality of their celebration.

During portraits, I offered gentle guidance and helped Sarah and James feel comfortable in front of the camera. Then, as they settled into the moment together, I gave them room to laugh, talk, and enjoy being newly married.

Later that evening, James leaned over and whispered something that made Sarah laugh so hard she wiped away a tear. It was a genuine moment that happened naturally, and I was there to preserve it.

That photograph now hangs in their home.
Behind every image was thoughtful preparation, personal guidance, and a plan designed around Sarah and James’ day.

That is what working with me feels like. Before your wedding begins, I have already considered the details that will help the day unfold smoothly, so you can be fully present for the moments you will remember most.

Where Your Experience Begins

Your engagement session is more than a beautiful collection of photographs. It is an opportunity for us to meet, spend time together, and begin building the trust that carries into your wedding day.

For many couples, this is their first experience being professionally photographed. Without the excitement and attention of family and friends, you have time to become comfortable in front of the camera and experience how I guide you. You do not need to know how to pose or arrive with a list of ideas. I will help you choose a location, offer direction throughout the session, and create an experience that feels relaxed, natural, and enjoyable.

As we photograph together, I begin to learn more about your story, what matters most to you, and the way you naturally connect. I see how you make each other laugh, how you feel most comfortable, and the small interactions that make your relationship uniquely yours.

By the time your wedding day arrives, you will already know what it feels like to work with me. You will understand how I guide you, and I will have a deeper understanding of the connection I am there to preserve.

The result is more than an engagement gallery. It is a relationship built before the wedding, allowing you to step in front of the camera with greater confidence and begin your celebration feeling comfortable, familiar, and fully present.

For Destination Couples

For couples planning a destination wedding in Seattle or the Pacific Northwest, the experience can be thoughtfully tailored around your travel schedule and celebration.

Before You Say "I Do"

Every couple's story unfolds a little differently, but the experience is always centered around the same thing: helping you enjoy every step along the way.

From planning your wedding to reliving it through your photographs, I'll be there to guide you, celebrate with you, and thoughtfully prepare for the moments that matter most.

1. Meet & Dream

Every wedding begins with a conversation. We'll get to know each other, talk through your vision, answer your questions, and discover what matters most to you. When it feels like the right fit, we'll reserve your date and begin planning together.

2. Plan & Prepare

Together, we'll shape a wedding day that flows naturally, from your timeline and portrait locations to the meaningful details that matter most. I'll coordinate with your planner and vendor team so you can feel confident and focus on each other.

3. Explore & connect

Your engagement session is a chance to slow down, spend time together, and experience what it's like to be photographed before the wedding day. By the time your celebration arrives, you'll feel comfortable in front of the camera, and I'll know the little things that make your relationship uniquely yours.

4. refine & celebrate

As your wedding approaches, we'll finalize your timeline, family photographs, and every last detail. By the time the day arrives, you can simply enjoy it knowing everything has been thoughtfully prepared.

5. be present

This is the day you've been dreaming about. I'll gently guide the moments that need direction, preserve the ones that unfold naturally, and care for every detail so you can focus on celebrating the people you love.

6. relive & preserve

Shortly after your wedding, you'll receive preview images while I carefully prepare your complete gallery. When you're ready, I'll help you preserve your favorite photographs in heirloom albums and artwork designed to be enjoyed for generations.

The Difference Is in the Details

Beautiful photographs begin with something you may never notice.

They're created through thoughtful decisions, quiet observation, and years of experience that allow your wedding day to unfold naturally while every meaningful moment is preserved.

I Notice What Matters

  • The smallest moments often become the ones you'll treasure most. A reassuring squeeze of the hand. Your grandparents watching from across the room. The laughter that happens between the photographs. Those are the moments I'm always looking for.

A tender moment as a bride in a flowing gown kisses a young ring bearer on the forehead, her bouquet of mixed flowers adding a touch of classic wedding beauty to the outdoor scene.

Experience Creates Ease

  • After photographing so many weddings, I've learned that the best wedding days aren't perfect—they're present.

  • When unexpected moments arise, I'll quietly adapt so your celebration never loses its rhythm.

Every Wedding Is Personal

  • No two couples are alike, and your photographs shouldn't be either. Rather than following a formula, I approach every wedding with fresh eyes, documenting your day in a way that reflects your story, your relationships, and the people you love most.

Crafted to Last

  • Long after the flowers have faded and the music has ended, your photographs become part of your family's history. Every image I deliver is created with that legacy in mind.

Because when every little detail is thoughtfully cared for, you're free to laugh often, hug tightly, dance a little longer, and celebrate with the people you love.

We’re a perfect match if:

  • You care more about being present than performing for the camera.

  • You value genuine moments over perfectly posed ones.

  • You believe photographs should tell the truth of your day.

  • You appreciate thoughtful planning just as much as beautiful photographs.

  • You want a photographer who feels like a calming presence throughout the day.

A FEW THINGS About Me:

  • I started my career as a fashion photographer, which gave me an eye for elegance, detail, and timeless portraiture.

  • Before photography, I spent nearly 19 years farming in southwest Nebraska. Our family raised cattle, sheep, chickens, and horses while farming 2,500 acres of corn and wheat. Along the way, I learned to shear sheep, spin wool, weave, knit, and crochet. That chapter taught me hard work, creativity, and resilience.

  • I’m a little obsessed with Peloton. I’ve completed more than 19,000 workouts, lead an online workout challenge community with 21,000+ members, and Robin Arzón is my favorite instructor.

  • Some of my favorite adventures are the ones I take with my husband and our kids. They’re endlessly creative and somehow turn every trip into a themed experience. One of our favorites was visiting the actual filming locations from 10 Things I Hate About You.

  • I’m always on the hunt for hidden gems, whether it’s a scenic hiking trail, a cozy coffee shop, or an overlooked waterfront viewpoint. I love discovering places most people drive right past.

  • Photography means so much to me because of my two extraordinary grandmothers. There are only a handful of photographs of my Grandma Hazel because she was always behind the camera—a powerful reminder that photographers deserve to be in the story too. My Nana Edith inspired my adventurous spirit as a crop duster, deputy sheriff, and magazine publisher. Together, they shaped who I am and taught me that every life has a story worth remembering.

Still have a few questions?

I've answered some of the most common ones below.

Questions Couples Often Ask

A few answers to questions couples often ask before booking.

What happens after we inquire?

The first step is just getting to know each other. We'll schedule a time to talk about your wedding, what's most important to you, and the experience you're hoping to create. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, share your vision, and learn how I work.

If it feels like we're the right fit, I'll send over everything you need to reserve your date, and we'll begin planning together. From there, I'll guide you through each step so you always know what comes next.

Do we have to know exactly what we want before we book?

Not at all.

Some couples reach out after every detail has been planned. Others have just gotten engaged and are still deciding on a venue or wedding date. Wherever you are in the planning process, you're welcome here.

Over the years, I've helped couples think through everything from choosing the right venue and building a timeline to finding portrait locations and planning a photography experience that feels relaxed and natural. We'll take it one step at a time, and I'll be here to guide you along the way.

How involved will you be before the wedding?

You'll never feel like you're figuring it out on your own.

Long before your wedding day arrives, we'll discuss your timeline, family photographs, portrait locations, lighting, and the flow of your celebration. I'll also work alongside your planner and vendor team to make sure everything comes together seamlessly.

The more thoughtfully we prepare beforehand, the more relaxed and present you'll be when your wedding day arrives.

Will you help keep everything running smoothly on the wedding day?

Absolutely.

While your planner is focused on the overall event, I'm focused on the photography experience. I'll gently guide portraits, keep an eye on the timeline, and watch for the little details that help your photographs look their best.

Most of the time, you'll hardly notice I'm doing it. You'll simply feel free to enjoy your day, knowing someone is paying attention to the moments that matter.

What happens after the wedding?

Within a few days, you'll receive a collection of preview images so you can begin reliving your wedding while the excitement is still fresh.

From there, I carefully edit every image in your gallery, creating a collection that reflects your wedding day story with consistency and care. Once your gallery is ready, you'll be able to download your photographs, share them with family and friends, and begin selecting your favorites for heirloom albums and artwork.

Can you help us create an album?

Absolutely.

Your photographs deserve more than a folder on your computer.

I'll help you design a custom heirloom album that tells the story of your wedding from beginning to end. Together, we'll select the images that matter most and create something you'll enjoy pulling off the shelf for years to come.

Do you offer wall art and prints?

Yes.

Your gallery includes access to a professional print lab, making it easy to order beautiful prints and artwork directly from your images. Whether you're looking for a statement piece for your home or gifts for family, I'll help you choose options that are designed to last for generations.

What if we just want to enjoy our wedding without worrying about photographs?

That's exactly how I want your wedding day to feel.

Through thoughtful preparation before the wedding and gentle guidance throughout the day, you'll never have to wonder what's happening next or feel like you're performing for the camera. My goal is to create photographs that feel natural while giving you the freedom to celebrate, connect with the people you love, and embrace every moment.

READY TO BEGIN?

Every wedding begins with a conversation.

I'd love to hear what you're planning, what's most important to you, and how I can create a photography experience that's thoughtfully designed around your celebration.
