planning & booking faq

Q: How far in advance should we book?

A: Most couples book 8–14 months in advance, especially for peak dates. If you have a specific date in mind, I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later.

Dates are limited each year to ensure every couple receives a fully guided experience.

Q: What is required to reserve our date?

A: A signed contract and retainer secure your date. From there, everything is guided step-by-step so you always know what comes next.

Q: How does the booking process work?

A: Once you reach out, we’ll schedule a conversation to talk through your plans, what you’re envisioning, and how you want your day to feel. From there, I’ll guide you through the next steps and recommend coverage that fits your day intentionally.

Q: Do you offer custom collections?

A: Yes. While I offer thoughtfully designed collections, I’m happy to tailor coverage to fit your day.

Q: how do payments work?

A: My payment schedule is designed to be simple, transparent, and stress-free.

  • A retainer is due when you sign the contract to secure your wedding date. This amount is non-refundable and reserves your day on my calendar.

  • The remaining balance is split into two equal payments: one at the 6-month mark and the final payment due 30 days before the wedding.

I accept payments via bank transfer, credit card, or check. You’ll receive friendly reminders for each due date, and everything is clearly outlined in your contract so there are never any surprises.

Q: Do you travel for weddings?

A: Yes. I photograph weddings in a variety of locations and am always open to travel. If you’re planning something outside the area, just reach out, and we can talk through the details and what that would look like.

wedding day Experience faq

Q: Will you help with timeline planning?

A: Yes, this is one of the most important parts of what I do. I help build a timeline that allows space for real moments while still making sure everything flows smoothly. The result is a day that feels calm, not rushed.

Q: We’re awkward in photos. Will you pose us?

A: You don’t need to know how to pose; that’s my job. I give direction when needed, but I focus more on creating movement and connection so your photos feel natural, not staged.

Q: How involved are you on the wedding day?

A: As much or as little as needed, but always intentionally. I step in to guide when it matters and step back when it doesn’t, so your day feels natural while still thoughtfully documented.

Q: What makes your approach different from other photographers?

A: I don’t approach weddings as something to simply document; I guide the day in a way that allows you to be fully present while still creating images that feel elevated, intentional, and true to you. You’ll never be left wondering what to do with your hands or how the timeline is flowing. I’m there for all of it.

photography style and editing FAQ

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: My photography style is true-to-color, emotionally driven, and timeless. I focus on genuine connection, elegant composition, and natural emotion while still giving gentle direction when needed.

You will never spend your wedding day stiffly posed, but you also will not be left wondering what to do. The result is imagery that feels refined, effortless, and deeply personal to your relationship.

Q: Will our images be heavily edited? Do you photograph true-to-color?

A: Your images will be professionally edited while still feeling natural and true to life. I photograph and edit in a true-to-color style with rich tones, clean skin tones, and timeless consistency throughout your gallery.

I avoid heavy editing trends so your photos still feel beautiful and relevant decades from now.

Q: What does coverage look like?

A: Every wedding day is different, which is why coverage is thoughtfully curated around the experience you want documented. Rather than fitting your day into a strict hourly package, I help create a photography timeline that allows space for meaningful moments to unfold naturally and without feeling rushed.

Most couples want everything from getting ready through the reception documented, while others prefer a more intimate approach. During the planning process, we will determine the collection and coverage that best fits your celebration.

Wedding Day WEATHER and LIGHT FAQ

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: Some of the most beautiful images happen in less-than-perfect weather. I come prepared with a plan, backup options, and the experience to adapt quickly so nothing feels stressful. Nothing about your day is compromised, only made more distinctive.

Q: Is it better to have sun or clouds for photos?

A: Both sunny, clear skies and clouds can be beautiful, but in different ways. Cloud cover creates soft, even light that feels clean and timeless, while direct sun can add contrast and depth. I approach each condition intentionally so your images reflect the atmosphere of your day.

Q: What if our venue has limited natural light?

A: I’m experienced in working in a variety of lighting conditions, from bright outdoor spaces to dim indoor settings. I bring the tools and knowledge needed to create clean, intentional images in any environment.

Q: Will our photos still look good throughout the entire day?

A: Yes. Your day isn’t built around perfect lighting, and it shouldn’t have to be. I approach each part of the day with intention, adjusting for changing light and environments so everything feels cohesive from start to finish. Whether it’s getting ready, midday portraits, or the evening reception, your images will feel consistent, clean, and true to the atmosphere of your day.

Galleries & Deliverables FAQ

Q: How many images will we receive?

A: Every wedding is different, but you can expect a thoughtfully curated gallery that tells the full story of your day with intention—never excess. On average, you will receive 50 to 100 images per hour of coverage.

Q: Can we see full galleries?

A: Yes. I’m always happy to share full galleries so you can see how a wedding day is documented from start to finish, not just the highlights. It’s the best way to understand what your own gallery could look like.

Q: How long does it take to receive our photos?

A: You’ll receive a preview within 24 to 48 hours after your session, whether that is the engagement session or after your wedding, with your full gallery delivered within a clearly communicated timeframe.

Q: Do you help with albums?

A: Yes, your images are meant to be experienced beyond a screen. I offer heirloom-quality albums designed to preserve your story in a tangible way.

engagement sessions

Q: Do you help with locations for engagement sessions?

A: Yes. I’ll guide you toward locations that fit your style and feel natural to you; whether that’s something more minimal, more scenic, or somewhere meaningful. The goal is to choose a place that complements you, not distracts from you.

Q: What should we wear for our engagement session?

A: I’ll guide you through this. The goal is to choose pieces that feel like you while also working well together in a way that photographs cleanly. Once we have a location in mind, I can help you refine options so everything feels cohesive without feeling overdone. Remember to coordinate your outfits, not match.

Pro tip: Bring an extra pair of shoes to walk around in to stay comfortable during the session.

Q: How long does an engagement session last?

A: Most sessions are relaxed and move at a comfortable pace, lasting about 60 to 90 minutes. We’ll have enough time to settle in, explore a couple of spots if needed, and create a mix of images without it ever feeling rushed.

My Thoughtful Approach

Q: Have you worked at our venue before?

A: I’ve photographed a wide range of venues and environments. Even if your location is new to me, I approach every space with intention, scouting light, identifying the best backdrops, and creating a plan that fits your day.

Every space is approached with fresh eyes, not assumptions.

Q: Do you have backup equipment?

A: Yes. I bring multiple cameras, lenses, and backups so nothing is left to chance.

Q: What happens if you’re unable to photograph our wedding?

A: In the unlikely event that I’m unable to be there, you would be fully supported without disruption.
